From Roger Binny to Rajiv Shukla, Meet Top Contenders For BCCI Posts
The BCCI elections and Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on October 18 and the deadline for nominations for the BCCI election is October 12. The elections are for the positions of president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer.
There were rumours that World Cup-winning all-rounder Roger Binny is widely expected to take Sourav Ganguly's role as the next president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Meanwhile, Jay Shah is expected to keep his position as BCCI secretary.
Meanwhile, experienced administrator Rajeev Shukla will retain his position as vice president of the board, while Ashish Sellar is expected to take over as treasurer, succeeding Arun Singh Dhumal.
On the other hand, Sourav Ganguly's future role also remains a big question. In 2019, the former India captain was overwhelmingly chosen as the BCCI president. Meanwhile, there have been rumours that Sourav Ganguly will be India's representative for the ICC chairman's position. The ICC elections are scheduled for November.
