It's Do or Die Today for SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad faces a must-win situation against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL today. A loss will likely end their playoff hopes.

Both teams are tied on 12 points, but SRH has a better net run rate, placing them fourth. A win will boost SRH to 14 points and strengthen their playoff chances. A defeat, however, could allow Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals to overtake them.

It's similar to a quarterfinal and SRH's fortunes hinge on this crunch game against LSG at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The match starts at 7:30 PM.

SRH has been the most exciting team this IPL season, scoring 250+ runs thrice. But recent losses, including the most recent against Mumbai Indians, have derailed their campaign.

While Travis Head has starred with the bat, Abhishek Sharma's recent form dip has hampered SRH's aggressive intent. The top order would want to rectify this in the high-stakes clash. The team also has faced the problem of finding a reliable No.3 as Mayank Agarwal failed to deliver once again. The middle order of Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy had provided stability but they too couldn't get going against MI. SRH may want to bring in Aiden Markram for all-rounder Marco Jansen to bolster their batting depth.

On the bowling front, Pat Cummins has led by example with veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan delivering impressive performances. The lack of a spinner in the last game against MI hurt SRH and they would rectify this against LSG. 

Playing their final three home games, SRH needs to rediscover their batting prowess to pose a serious threat and make it to the playoffs.
