According to sources, the following season's fixtures have not been finalised, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informally communicated to key stakeholders that the IPL 2022 campaign would most likely begin on April 2 in Chennai.

With the inclusion of the two new teams, the number of games will increase to 15. Therefore, the BCCI has speculated internally that the season would last more than 60 days, with the final matches scheduled for the first weekend of June.
