IND vs BAN: Sunil Gavaskar Defends KL Rahul , Reveals Why India Lost The Match

 - Sakshi Post

Bangladesh defeated Rohit Sharma's Team India by one wicket in the first One Day International (ODI) at the Bangla National Stadium, led by Litton Das.

Despite KL Rahul, outstanding performance netizens criticised him for dropping the game-changing catch. Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh was dropped by India's wicketkeeper Rahul on 17, allowing the hosts to punish India in a low-scoring thriller in Dhaka.

At a time when Rahul is under fire after dropping the catch, batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has stepped forward to defend the wicketkeeper-batter.

"You can't really say that was the end of it. Because, yeah, I believe that was the final wicket. That should have been the end of the game. However, I believe you will consider India's 186-point total. The bowlers performed admirably to put themselves in a situation where they were 136-9," Sunil Gavaskar.

"Then Hasan Miraj came in; they were lucky with the drop catch, but he performed incredibly well. He played wisely. They went on the offensive and made some daring shots. However, India scored at least 80 to 70 runs less, and if they had 250, it could have been a different game," Sunil Gavaskar told Sony Sports Network.
