Australian Open 2023: Sania Mirza – Rohan Bopanna Into Finals
Australian Open 2023: Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna beat Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk by 7-6, 6-7,10-6 in the Mixed Doubles semi-finals at the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne. Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna won the first set and were at match point in the second, but had to wait till the super tie-breaker due to some excellent performance by the Brit-American duo in the second's tie-breaker.
In the second set tie-breaker, Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk demonstrated their skills returning with intensity and hitting huge smashes from the baseline to put the Indian duo under pressure and win the tiebreaker 7-5 after trailing 3-5. In the final set, Sania and Bopanna raced to a five-point lead and stormed into finals
Earlier, the Indian duo advanced to the semi-finals after obtaining a walkover in their quarter-final encounter against Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez of Latvia and Spain.
