Aadudam Andhra Sports Festival Deadline Extended

 - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government is making massive arrangements for the state-wide 'Aadudam Andhra' mega sports festival. Excitement is building in the state over the mega tournament as 30.5 lakh players have registered for the event while over 1.36 people have signed up as spectators. Given the immense enthusiasm among the youth and young players, the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) has extended the deadline for the registration deadline till December 17, 2023, Sunday.

The SAAP officials have identified nearly 9,600 sports grounds across the state to conduct the 'Aadudam Andhra' mega sports festival. Due to the recent cyclone Michaung, several grounds in the affected districts are still wet, therefore, the sports authority has extended the deadline.

Giving a professional look to the sporting event, the government has designed a special uniform for the participants. The winners at the Gram/Ward Sachivalayam levels will receive the T-shirts with the tournament logo. 114 women and men who won 5 major sports (cricket, kho kho, badminton, doubles, kabaddi and volleyball) will receive these shirts at each secretariat level.

The T-shirts emblazoned with the tournament logo will be distributed in two phases. In the first phase, over 17.19 lakh t-shirts will be handed out to the local champions. Later, the sports kits will be dispatched to the district-level winners who qualify for state-level competitions.

The Sports Authority is planning to utilise the services of Secretariat volunteers for the tournaments. Meanwhile, the coaches, physical education teachers and others have been given training on officiating and recording digital scoring during the matches.
