YSRCP MLA Jogi Ramesh Protests Against TDP Ayyanna Patrudu's Remarks
GUNTUR: YSR Congress Party(YSRCP) workers led by MLA Jogi Ramesh staged a protest in front of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s house in Tadepalli on Friday. He demanded an immediate apology for the derogatory remarks made by former Minister and senior TDP leader Ch Ayyanna Patrudu against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
After getting to know this, TDP activists led by MLC Buddha Venkanna rushed there attacked the YSRCP activists who were protesting in a peaceful manner.
The TDP activists attacked them with sticks, hurled stones, and grabbed their clothes in the scuffle that ensued. TDP activists hurled stones on Jogi Ramesh’s car leading to the car getting damaged. They also pelted stones at the YSRCP cadre who had come along with him. Tension prevailed after the TDP activists clashed with the YSRCP leaders and attacked them.
The MLA squatted on the road along with his followers and the police were called in to diffuse the situation.
Talking to the media at the site, Jogi Ramesh expressed his ire at Chandrababu Naidu and said that he was the one who was provoking the TDP leaders. It was Chandrababu who instigated TDP workers to pelt stones at him deliberately. Jogi Ramesh challenged Chandrababu Naidu to come out of his home and warned of dire consequences if he did not apologize.
Speaking after the incident, YSRCP Anakapalle MLA Gudivada Amarnath alleged that the TDP leaders attacked Jogi Ramesh. Why will there be attacks if there is a peaceful protest, he asked. He said that the TDP leaders could not tolerate the High Court’s verdict on the Parishad elections, which allowed counting of votes for the MPTC and ZPTC elections.
Lella Appireddy said that Chandrababu was the main reason for Ayyanna Patrudu to make such degrading statements. He alleged that the TDP was looking to create conflicts in the name of castes and religion. The TDP leaders attacked the YSRCP MLA and the cadre who were staging the protests in a peaceful manner, he fired.
