Pawan Kalyan Hints At Jana Sena-BJP Split ?
The BJP-Jana Sena party alliance seems to be on the verge of splitting once again, especially after Pawan Kalyan's announcement made at the Jana Sena 7th formation day celebrations in Hyderabad.
With the Municipal Elections in Andhra Pradesh and the Graduate MLC Polls in Telangana ending Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan had expressed his unhappiness over the attitude of Telangana BJP unit leaders not respecting the JSP and threatened to move out of the BJP alliance.
This, followed by a statement made by the party's state general secretary Pothina Mahesh in Vijayawada has raised clear indications that the friendship between the two parties could soon come to an end.
Pawan Kalyan during the MLC polls in Telangana on Sunday were being held, and made a statement in support of S Vani Devi the TRS-backed candidate and daughter of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and not the BJP candidate. It is noteworthy that he made harsh remarks on the Telangana state BJP on this occasion.
''Jana Sena leaders have brought to my notice that the BJP state leadership has used them. You need not be in a place where you are not respected . I do not have the courage to tell them to continue relations with such people,'' Pawan Kalyan said.
Shortly afterwards, JSP spokesperson Mahesh released a video in Vijayawada alleging that the party had lost the Vijayawada municipal elections due to BJP policies. He said that no one in the State believed in BJP's policies anymore.
Despite contesting the 2019 Assembly elections alone, Pawan Kalyan has been criticized for secretly maintaining relations with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, despite his recent alliance with the BJP.
Though Pawan Kalyan wanted to enter the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-elections to benefit the TDP, the BJP leaders announced that they would contest there themselves. Political sources commented that Pawan's efforts to bring the TDP closer were not successful at the BJP central leadership. On the other hand, in the wake of the latest municipal election results, political analysts say it is becoming clear that Pawan is keen in moving out from the BJP alliance and continuing his relations with the TDP. This was also following Chandrababu's suggestions that the strategy of trying to split the votes against the Government would not work all the time, especially after the results were declared on Sunday, where the TDP and Jana Sena were routed.
