 - Sakshi Post

Kadak Singh has been streaming on OTT platform. The Hindi-language suspense thriller is directed by director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury of 'Pink' and 'Lost' fame. The film delves into the investigation into a chit fund. Find out more about the movie:

Story:

AK Shrivastav (Pankaj Tripathi) is known as Kadak Singh in his circle. As someone who has served in the Department of Financial Crimes, he knows a lot of things about financial crimes. Retrograde amnesia puts him in trouble and he suddenly wakes up in a hospital bed after having forgotten everything. It is up to his daughter Sakshi (Sanjana Sanghi), Naina (Jaya Ahsan), son (Varun Buddhav), nurse (Parvathy Thiruvothu), and boss (Dilip Shankar) to uncover his past from different perspectives.

Performances:

The acting by Pankaj Tripathi is superlative. He is considered one of the best character artists in Hindi cinema. And he perks up this Zee5 original with the confidence of an accomplished artist. Everyone around him ably supports him. The characters have been wired into showing extraordinary emotions throughout.

The detailing in the script helped matters a great deal. Varun Buddhadev, Dilip Shankar, Jogi Mallang, Raaj Modi, Anindya Sen Gupta, and Gulshanara Khatun are solid.

Technical Departments:

Editor Arghakamal Mira did his job well. Shantanu Moitra's BGM and Avik Mukhopadhyay's cinematography capture the dark mood of the proceedings with intensity.

Plus Points:

1. Script writer Ritesh Shah's ideas are sharp.
2. The storyline (penned by the director, Ritesh Shah and Viraf Sarkari) is impressive.
3. The memory blackout element has been shown with cleverness.
4. The non-linear narrative is a major plus.
5. The multiple perspectives offered by the protagonist's daughter, colleagues and a long-time friend are interesting.
6. Financial crimes are rarely explored in our cinema. 'Kadak Singh' is refreshing.
7. Miss Kannan (played by Parvathy Thiruvothu) is a plus.

Minus Points:

Since this is a family drama, a thriller and an investigative story rolled into one, the narrative should have been more gripping.

Verdict:

'Kadak Singh' comes with suspense. The climax is very good and built on content. Watch it on Zee5. It will engage you.
