Karnataka: Son Dies Hours After Performing Final Rites of Covid Positive Father
The second wave of COVID-19 is taking lots of lives and the death rate is also high compared to the first wave. A 44-year-old son died hours after performing the last rites of his father at Bailuguthu Koppala in Vittal's Punacha. On Tuesday night, Bhujanga Shetty (85), a retired lecturer at KPT, died of a Covid-19 infection. Shetty's final rites were performed by Seva Bharathi volunteers on Wednesday.
Shetty's younger son Shailesh Shetty (44) collapsed unexpectedly during the final rites. He was immediately shifted to a hospital in Puttur, where the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Shailesh had been working in Australia for two months when he returned home. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
