The agency in a statement said that "Looking into the present situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main) - 2021 April session."

The first two sessions have already been completed in February and March.

On April 14th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Education Minister Pokriyal and other government officials had decided to cancel the CBSE board exams for class 10th and also postponed the board exams of class 12th. The 10th-grade students will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment. A student can write an exam when the situation comes to normal if he/she is not satisfied with the grades.
