Ivanka Trump Draws Flak For Praising Bihar Girl’s Cycling Ordeal For Father
HYDERABAD: Donald Trump's daughter and US Presidential advisor Ivanka Trump hailed the efforts of an Indian teenager who cycled 1,200 km to bring her ailing father back home. The tweet made by Ivanka is however turning out to be the butt of criticism in India for not understanding the plight of migrant workers and the reality behind the girl's efforts. Ivanka took to her Twitter and tweeted as, "15-year-old Jyoti Kumari, carried her wounded father to their home village on the back of her bicycle covering +1,200 km over 7 days. This beautiful feat of endurance & love has captured the imagination of the Indian people and the cycling federation!"
To this tweet, National Conference's leader Omar Abdullah reacted saying, "Her poverty & desperation are being glorified as if Jyoti cycled 1,200 KM for the thrill of it. Government failed her, that's hardly something to trumpet as an achievement." Here is the tweet.

Congress MP Karti Chidambaram also tweeted almost on similar lines, "This is not a feat of excellence. It’s a feat fuelled by desperation caused due to the callous attitude of the BJP government headed (by) your “friend” and “host” Narendra Modi.” Just have a look at the tweet here.
