India’s Youngest Mayor to Marry Kerala’s Youngest MLA in September
Thiruvananthapuram: Two young public representatives of Kerala, both belonging to the CPI(M), have decided to get married in September, sources said on Tuesday. Arya Rajendran, the country's youngest mayor and Balussery MLA Sachin Dev, the youngest member in the Kerala Legislative Assembly will tie the knot on September 4.
According to sources, the wedding ceremony will take place at AKG Centre, the CPI(M) headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on September 4 at 11 am. Both the CPI(M)leaders got engaged in a ceremony held at the AKG Centre on March 6 which was attended by several senior CPI(M) leaders.
In December 2020, when Arya Rajendran took charge of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation in Kerala, she had grabbed the headlines as she became the youngest mayor in India. At the time of assuming charge, 21-year-old Arya was studying at the All Saints College in Thiruvananthapuram.

A few months later, Sachin Dev became the youngest MLA in the Kerala Assembly after winning the Balussery Assembly seat on a CPM ticket. While 28-year-old Sachin is the State Secretary of the Students Federation of India (SFI), Arya is its state committee member. She is also a state president of the Bala Sangham, the children’s unit of the Left.
