Cowin Portal Now in Telugu

 - Sakshi Post

The Union Health Ministry announced on Friday that the CoWIN portal, which is the Centre's website for registering for COVID-19 vaccination, is now available in Telugu and 10 other regional languages. Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Bengali, Odia, and English, which was already the website's medium of instruction.

According to previous reports, CoWin portal will be available in Telugu, Hindi, and 14 other languages by next week. In addition, 17 new laboratories will be added to the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genome Sequencing Consortia (INSACOG) network, which will aid in the monitoring of COVID-19 variants, according to the report.

The decision was made after a high level meeting with the Minister (GoM) on COVID-19. Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan chaired the meeting on Monday. Dr. Vardhan informed his colleagues at the meeting that the INSACOG network will be expanded to include 17 new laboratories, which will increase the number of samples screened and allow for more spatial analysis. The INSACOG network currently has ten laboratories in various parts of the country.

To get vaccinated against COVID-19, people between the ages of 18 and 44 can register on the CoWIN portal. Before receiving the injection, you must first register. For those over the age of 45, however, walk-ins are permitted. Other apps, such as Aarogya Setu and Umang, allow people to register for COVID-19 vaccination.

The government has recently allowed on-site registration, which is dependent on vaccine availability. The vaccine can be used for walk-in entries if a beneficiary does not show up on the scheduled appointment day. This decision was made in order to reduce COVID-19 vaccine waste. The states will determine when the on-site registration facility will begin based on the availability of extra vaccines.
