Congress-led Karnataka Govt Swearing-in Ceremony Date Out, Suspense Remains Over CM Face
Bengaluru: Amid speculations over the Chief Minister candidate, the Karnataka Congress announced the date of the oath-taking ceremony of the State government on Sunday.
According to reports, the new Chief Minister of Congress-led Karnataka government and the cabinet ministers would take oath on Thursday. However, the suspense over the name of the next Chief Minister is still not revealed.
It is reported that the members of Gandhi family and party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge will attend the event. Several leaders from ‘link-minded’ opposition parties are likely to witness the swearing-in ceremony.
The Congress stormed back to power after removing BJP from its only bastion in the South by winning 135 seats in the 224-member Karnataka House.
Meanwhile, the Congress supporters of top leaders have started poster wars demanding the coveted post for their leaders. Supporters of Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar have started claiming that their leader should be made the CM. Huge posters have come up in front of the residences of both the leaders.
