Aryan Khan Drugs Case: Now NCB Chief Sameer Wankhede Wants Police Protection
The zonal director of NCB's Mumbai unit, Sameer Wankhede recently wrote a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner asking him to make sure that there is no precipitate legal action carried out against him. This could be done by some random person whose main aim is to tarnish Sameer’s image. He even asked Mumbai Police for protection.
The reference was to a claim made by Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the case, who overheard a conversation concerning an alleged payoff to Sameer Wankhede in exchange for the release of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan.

Wankhede further claimed that "threats of incarceration and dismissal" were made against him on the "public media by very respectable state employees."
The NCB officer's concerns arise from Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik's announcement that he would meet with the state's chief minister and home minister to demand an investigation into the claims against Wankhede.
