 - Sakshi Post

Finally, the wait is over. Rebel Star Prabhas’ Salaar has opened in theatres. Last night, Salaar's premiers and benefits shows were held across the globe, including in the Telugu States. The film has earned glowing reviews from all quarters. Without much delay, let’s check out the review.

Plot: Deva (Prabhas) lives a calm life in a small town named Tinsukia near Assam with his pacifist mother (Eeswari Rao). A gang starts chasing Aadhya (Shruti Haasan), the daughter of a New York-based man named Krishnakanth. She is in India on a visit. Deva protects Aadhya.

Somewhere in Khansaar, Deva's childhood friend Varadharaja Mannar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is on the cusp of ascending the throne. But there is a severe challenge to him. The story explores the threads involving the three characters and also brings into equations the power-hungry governors who litter the Khansaar City.

Performances: Prabhas nails it in the titular role. He delivers a memorable performance, uttering fabulous dialogues like a pro. Prithviraj portrayed Varada Raja Mannar with precision, conviction and dedication.

Shruti Haasan shines in her role. She does a decent job. Jagapathi Babu gives a commendable performance. The rest of the cast are good. Bobby Simha and John Vijay are awesome as villains. Mime Gopi will always be remembered.

Plus Points:

Prabhas and his acting.
Prashanth Neel's impeccable direction.
Dialogues, especially those spoken by Prabhas' character.
Superlative performances by the entire cast
The climax

Minus Points :

Prashanth Neel could have trimmed the second half.
The narration could have been better in the first half.

Analysis:

Salaar is very good throughout. Director Neel and Prabhas worked really hard day in and day out to give the audience a pan-Indian treat. Ravi Basrur's music and Bhuvan Gowda's cinematography are classy.

The second part of the film is titled 'Salaar: Shouryaanga Parvam'. The film might be released in 2025 or 2026. Whenever it comes out, be prepared to be consumed by the hype.

Neel and Prabhas are a powerful combo. Their union will be remembered for a long time in Telugu.

Verdict: Salaar is a punchy entertainer that is a treat to Prabhas' die-hard fans.
