Story:

Karna (Karthik Raju) wants to become a police officer but fails to get his dream job due to health issues. He suffers from Asthma. Karna's friend asks him to join the clues team in the police department. Karan cracks a theft case with his intelligence. At the job, he meets his college friend Nitya (Simran Choudhary), who is now a crime reporter. He falls in love with her.

Meanwhile, Nitya's friend Joshni (Ayraa as a film actress) and her boyfriend Shiva get killed by unknown people. Police assume that Shiva killed his girlfriend despite there being no evidence. They close the case by pointing at Shiva. But Karna believes otherwise. Who killed Aryaa and her boyfriend? How does the hero go about solving the case? That's what the film is about.

Performances: Karthik Raju nails as an investigator who is actually a biometric analyst as per the story. He carried the whole film on his shoulders and delivered a commendable performance. Simran Chaudhary got a minimal role, but she did her best. Ayraa also did a good job. The rest of the cast and crew did justice to their roles.

Merits:

The investigation scenes.
The episode where a guy is traced in Karnataka.
The pre-climax and climax portions.
The lead to 'Atharva 2' in the climax.

Demerits:

A few issues pertaining to the depiction of the dynamics within the police department.

Verdict: Atharva is an engaging thriller.

Rating: 2.5/5
