UP man hacked to death in his house
Kanpur (UP), May 15 (IANS) A 55-year-old man has been hacked to death at his house in Deen Dayal Puram, KDA Colony in the Bidhnu police area of the district.
According to the information, unidentified assailants killed Sunil Verma, a private worker, by stabbing him with a sharp-edged weapon at his house.
The incident came to light when an electrician came to take meter readings.
"When he opened the door to take the reading, he saw the body of Sunil lying in a pool of blood in the front room," the police sources said.
He informed the neighbours, who in turn alerted the police.
In-charge Bidhnu police station Satish Rathore rushed to the spot and started investigations.
According to police, Sunil used to work at a plastic factory in Dada Nagar area of the city.
"His body has been sent for the post-mortem and investigations are continuing to ascertain the motive behind the murder," Rathore said.
However, locals said that a day before he murder, Sunil's nephew Krishna had visited his house with a girl. The nephew was spotted waiting outside the house as Sunil was not at home. Sunil had returned from the factory around 9 p.m, after which Krishna went inside the house with the girl.
Police said they are conducting raids by forming two teams in search of the man's nephew Krishna, who is absconding.
