S. Korea Seoul And Busan Ranked High As The Most Livable Asian Cities

Seoul, S. Korea - Sakshi Post

According to the Economist, Seoul and Busan are two of the top six Asian cities with the best overall living conditions.

The "The Global Liveability Index 2023" issued by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) ranked Busan sixth and Seoul fourth among Asian countries. The report's evaluation was based on the following categories: infrastructure, stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and health.

The top four cities in the EIU rankings, in addition to the Korean cities, were Osaka, Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The EIU examined 173 cities globally for this year's review, one of the ongoing evaluations of a city's global brand that quantifies the challenges posed to a person's way of life and quality of life. For more than 70 years, the group of experts has been updating the index once a year.

The outcome was particularly energising for Busan Metropolitan City. The second-largest Korean city received close to 90 points this year, up from the previous year's score of 70 from the British ranking. The city's government referred to it as a "quantum jump."

On May 25, the city also got good news from another city-branding evaluation. Busan was named first in Korea, third in Asia, and nineteenth overall in the globe by the global consulting firm Z/Yen, which has its headquarters in London.

According to the Planning and Coordination Office within the Busan city government, the results of these global city branding assessments are very significant since they have an impact on how each city may be recognised by the global community and consequently have an impact on the city's global competitiveness.

When he ran for re-election last year, Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon promised to make the city one of the top ten most livable cities in Asia. As one of his main objectives for his administration after winning, he pledged.
