Indian Student Dies of Injuries Sustained in Shooting Rampage in Canada

Ontario: Satwinder Singh, a 28-year-old Indian student, one of the victims in last Monday’s shooting rampage in Canada's Ontario, has died in Hamilton General Hospital, police said. 

The Indian student has succumbed to the injuries sustained during a shooting rampage in Ontario province which resulted in the deaths of Toronto policeman Andrew Hong (48) and Shakeel Ashraf (38). Three people, including Singh were injured in the shooting. 

Singh was working part-time at MK Auto Repairs which is owned by Shakeel Ashraf, at the time of the shooting, the statement said on Saturday. The gunman, 40-year-old Sean Petrie, was later shot dead by Hamilton police. As per report, the shooter had worked briefly at MK Auto Repairs.

The GoFundMe page honoring Singh had earlier said the former international student had been on life support and had been declared brain-dead. As of Sunday afternoon, GoFundMe had raised more than 35,000 dollars to help support Singh's family and return his body to India.
