Martyred Army Sepoy's Last Rites at Dharivada Village in Guntur

The remains of a martyred Army Sepoy arrived in Hyderabad on Friday.

On Thursday, Maruprolu Jaswanth Kumar Reddy was killed in crossfire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

Army Sepoy Maruprolu Jaswanth Kumar Reddy's mortal remains arrived at Air Force Station Hakimpet on Friday.

Hyderabad: Army Sepoy Maruprolu Jaswanth Kumar Reddy's mortal remains arrived at Air Force Station Hakimpet on Friday, after he was killed in crossfire on Thursday along the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.

According to a press release, the station's senior military officers received the mortal remains with full military honours. It was reported that his remains would be transferred to his ancestral village of Dharivada in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, for cremation.

He is survived by his mother Venkateswaramma. Sepoy Reddy served with the 17th Battalion of the Madras Regiment. A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Air Force Station, where senior officers from the Army, Air Force, and Civil Administration paid their respects.
