Four injured as recklessly-driven car crashes in south Delhi
New Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS) Four people, including a 14-year-old girl, were injured after a car driver, driving recklessly, lost control and crashed in south Delhi on Wednesday, police said.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7.30 a.m. when the Fatehpur Beri police station received a call from the police control room reporting a car had overturned, emitting smoke, and with people trapped inside.
Upon arriving at the scene, it was discovered that the injured had already been transported to the hospital. A senior police official said that patients Srishti,14, Vivek, 27, Vishal, 27, and Rohan, 29, were admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, and are currently receiving treatment.
"I was accompanying my daughter Srishti to drop her off at school. When we approached Pipal Chowk near Ghitorni metro station, a car traveling at high speed from the Gurugram side caused injuries to my daughter," an eyewitness told police.
"The said car swerved in the opposite direction, resulting in injuries to the three boys in the offending vehicle," the official said. A case under Sections 279, 337, and 338 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered, and an investigation is in progress, the official added.
