RGV Responds to Allegations on Pawan and Lokesh look-alike Characters

Ace Telugu director Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial ‘Vyooham’ has been generating buzz for quite some time due to its political backdrop on social media for two reasons - one, for the accurate depiction of Andhra politics and two for the portrayal of two supporting characters who bear a striking resemblance to an actor-turned politician Pawan Kalyan and a young TDP leader Lokesh. RGV is known for making thought-provoking and socially resonant films. 

The trailers of RGV’s political thriller have been released on YouTube and people have started discussing these two non-serious characters on social media. Responding to questions over the alleged comic portrayal of the politicians, the director clarified his artistic intent behind it. He said that some viewers may find resemblance to certain characters in the film and real-life political figures.

“I reject the claims that these two characters were depicted as comedians in the film. People are interpreting the scenes in their own way. It's natural for audiences to draw parallels,” RGV said in an interview to a TV news channel.
