Dhanush's Paternity Case: HC Delivers Verdict

 - Sakshi Post

Chennai: Madras High Court has dismissed a paternity case involving the Tamil star Dhanush citing lack of evidence to support the claim. Kathiresan and his wife Meenakshi, an elderly couple hailing from Melur in Madurai, had filed a case claiming that the actor is their son who left home to pursue a career in movies.

The couple had told the court that Dhanush had submitted forged documents of the paternity test. Kathiresan and his wife had demanded a monthly maintenance of Rs 65,000 from their alleged son.

In support of their argument, the petitioner submitted a school transfer certificate which purportedly had the actor's birthmarks. Following the court’s instructions Dhanush underwent physical examination to verify hsi identification marks. However, the results of the same proved to be inconclusive.

Following the petition, the court had summoned Dhanush and the case continued for years. The lawyer representing Dhanush informed the court that his client was born as Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja and Tamil filmmaker Kasthuri Raja and his wife Vijayalakshmi are his biological parents.

While dismissing the case as frivolous, the Madras High Court said the petitioner filed the case with a hidden agenda and also failed to submit proper evidence to prove the paternity allegations.
