For Krithi Shetty, 'Manamey' is Make or Break in Tollywood
Actress Krithi Shetty eagerly awaits the release of her upcoming Telugu film 'Manamey' starring opposite Sharwanand. The success of this movie could revive her career in the Telugu film industry.
Shetty made a promising debut with 'Uppena' in 2021, earning praise and a fan following among Telugu audiences. However, her subsequent releases, 'Custody' and 'ExtraOrdinary Man,' failed to perform well at the box office.
"For Telugu filmmakers, an actress's popularity often depends more on her association with hit movies than her talent," explains a producer. Krithi Shetty needs a successful movie like 'Manamey' to restore her position in the Tollywood industry.
To expand her reach, Shetty has also taken on projects in other South Indian languages. She will appear in the Tamil film 'Genie' with Jayam Ravi and the Malayalam movie 'Ajayante Random Moshanam.'
"While she explores opportunities outside Telugu cinema, she remains in touch with Telugu filmmakers and is likely to announce her next project soon," the producer added.
Despite the ups and downs, the actress based in Bengaluru has earned respect for her talent, looks, and dancing skills. As the producer concludes, "Hits and flops are part of an actor's journey." Krithi is waiting for that one big hit to turn the tide in her favour.
