Indian Movies Shortlisted For Oscar
Oscars season is here and with that, we once again have a few best of the Indian films shortlisted for submission. India has a history of making controversial decisions. Many times audience is not happy with the submission they have made. This time we have some big and promising names in the race. Let’s take a look.
‘Sherni’ and ‘Sadar Udham’ are on the list of shortlisted films for the Oscars. A total of 14 films have made it to the 94th Academy Awards submissions list. The film experts will get together to decide on the film that India will be sent to the Oscars.
The deadline for every country to send in their entries is 1st November 2021. The show will be held on 27th March 2022.

Screening for the shortlisted films is taking place. A 15-member jury from the Film Federation of India, chaired by director Shaji N. Karun is overseeing the process. After screening all these films, the jury will conduct a discussion to choose the final contender.
Directed by Amit Masurkar, Vidya Balan's Sherni and Shoojit Sircar helmed, Vicky Kaushal starrer Sardar Udham are among the shortlisted films. We also have Nayattu directed by Martin Prakkat. Mandela starring Yogi Babu. Bridge was directed by Kripal Kalita and Chhello Show by 9-year-old Samay, who is an aspiring filmmaker.
