Cha Joo Young in Talks for the Lead Role in New Drama
A new historical drama is in talks to have the lead role played by a South Korean actress from The Glory. Sources claim that Cha Joo Young will play the lead role in the next tvN drama "Won Kyung."
Her firm Ghost Studio responded to the reports by stating that Cha Joo Young has been offered the role of "Won Kyung" and that they are positively reviewing it.
The drama focuses on Queen Won Kyung, who gains control through a 600 year-earlier alliance with King Taejong Lee Bang Won. In the Joseon Dynasty Annals, the Queen is characterized as a lady prone to jealousy.
It has been offered that Cha Joo Young play the title role. She is the daughter of Min Je, the noblest family in Goryeo, in the reconstructed and fictionalized version of the tale. She later marries Lee Bang Won, a younger man who aids in her husband's ascension to the kingdom.
Cha Joo Young's portrayal of stewardess Hye Jeong in The Glory attracted a lot of interest and appreciation. She is currently appearing in The Real Has Come on KBS2.
