BTS’ Jungkook Talks About His Mother’s Conception Dream

Due to his diverse range of abilities, BTS member Jungkook got known as Golden Maknae from his admirers. It's interesting to note that before Jungkook was born, his mother had a dream about gold.

At the age of 20, Jungkook shared information regarding his mother's taemong, a conception dream according to Korean tradition. This idea holds that either the expectant mother or others close to the newborn can experience the taemong. These dreams are said to be predictions of when the child will be born or conceived, and they are believed to have symbols that represent the child's gender or future.

During an interview, Jungkook provided information about his mother's dream. In his description of the dream, he stated that "rain started to fall in a village, but the places that got touched by the raindrops turned into gold."

At BTS' 5th Muster [Magic Shop] event in Seoul in 2019, Jungkook said that his mother witnessed about seven black piglets nursing from their mother in a second taemong (conception dream). Jimin jokingly questioned whether Bang Si-hyuk, the former CEO of HYBE Entertainment and the mastermind behind BTS, was represented by the mother pig.
