Actor Venkatesh's Relative Contesting Elections!
Khammam, Telangana:: In a development that has brought the worlds of politics and entertainment closer, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, a relative of popular actor Venkatesh, is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Khammam constituency on a Congress ticket.
Reddy's candidacy highlights the intricate web of kinship ties that bind the political and entertainment elite in Telangana. He is not only the viyyankudu (wife's brother) of Venkatesh but also the father-in-law of the actor's elder daughter Asritha, who married Reddy's son Vinayak in a grand ceremony in Jaipur in 2019. The couple now resides in Spain.
The kinship connections extend further, with Reddy's younger son Arjun being married to Swapni Reddy, the daughter of Telangana minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Raghuram Reddy's candidacy is seen as a fulfillment of Ponguleti's demand.
Reddy comes from a family with a strong political pedigree. His father, Surender Reddy, was a close confidante of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and served as an MLA and MP multiple times from the undivided Warangal district.
By contesting the Khammam seat, Raghuram Reddy aims to continue his family's political tradition and potentially secure a place in Parliament. His success could further solidify the interconnected relationships that shape Telangana's power corridors, intertwining the worlds of politics, entertainment, and influential families.
