School Holiday Accident: Children killed in Stampede!

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday at the Islamic High School in Basorun, Oyo State, Nigeria. Young lives were lost in the incident as a stampede occurred at a holiday funfair organized for families, leaving many children injured and hospitalized.

According to state governor Seyi Makinde, the organizers of the event have been arrested, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the stampede. "Anyone directly or remotely involved in this disaster will be held accountable," Makinde emphasized.

The Women In Need Of Guidance and Support Foundation, which put together the event, reportedly had scheduled up to 5,000 youngsters for the occasion. The foundation held a similar occasion last year, and this year's edition promised exciting prizes, ranging from scholarships to gifts.

The national emergency services in Nigeria have sent a team to come and assist the victims of the accident, and the parents have been asked to check for missing persons in local hospitals.

The incident has sent shock waves in the community, and Governor Makinde has sent his condolences to the families of the victims. "We sympathize with the parents whose joy has suddenly been turned to mourning due to these deaths," he said. As the case unfolds, the community continues to mourn in shock and grief, for the loss of the young lives.
