Inter Exams 2024: Telangana Inter Exams Likely from Mar 1

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) is learnt to have proposed to conduct the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2024 beginning March 01, 2024. 

The new Education minister will likely consider the proposal after assuming the charge. The proposal is expected to be approved by early next week and subsequently the time table for the Intermediate Public Examinations will be released by the board. The Intermediate practicals will likely begin in February next year. 

The TSBIE proposal seeks early examinations to facilitate the student for the preparation of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which is a national-level examination for admission to various engineering and architecture courses in the country. The Intermediate exams were held mid-March in 2023.  

The board has also proposed to conduct the Class X examinations simultaneously from March 01 as the inter colleges will begin the academic year from June 01, 2024. 

It’s worth mentioning that starting this year, the Intermediate board has decided to do away with the Ethics & Human Values exam for the intermediate students. The board has integrated this subject into language subjects especially English. However, the students are required to appear for the Environmental Studies paper. 

The other significant change the TSBIE has brought in this academic is that the students will give English practicals. The IELTS-like English practicals will test the English language proficiency of the students in these areas — listening, reading, writing and speaking. The English paper’s 100 marks are divided into two part — 80 marks for the written exam while the English practicals will carry 20 marks.
