Delhi Police Inspector's wife booked for south Delhi accident where four injured

New Delhi, July 5 (IANS) Four people sustained injuries after a car allegedly driven by the wife of a Delhi Police Inspector hit them outside AIIMS hospital in south Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

The injured were identified as Gaurav, 22, his wife Ritika, 21, both residents of Trilokpuri, Nishant, 27, a resident of Lal Kuan, and Ranveer, 57, a resident of Noida.

According to police, around 12 p.m., information was received from security guards of AIIMS hospital regarding an accident that took place near Gate No 6A and 6B of the hospital.

“On receiving the information, a police team rushed to the spot where a Ford Ecosport was found. During initial enquiry it was found that the vehicle was being driven by Vipin Singh,” Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, Chandan Chowdhary said.

“Further, the police team visited AIIMS Trauma Centre where four injured persons in the incident were found and subsequently, their medico-legal case (MLC) details were collected.

“Further, on getting no statement from the injured persons, a case has been registered under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code on the DD entry information,” the DCP added.
