Tollywood Cinematographer Shyam K Naidu Arrested For Cheating Actress Sai Sudha?
HYDERABAD: Renowned Tollywood cinematographer Shyam K Naidu was reportedly arrested here on Wednesday following a complaint of cheating and exploitation by an actress. The news caused ripples across the spectrum of the Telugu film industry as this is the first instance in a few years where a high-profile cine technician is mired in a controversy of sexual exploitation.
The sensational controversy came to light after Sai Sudha, a character artiste who is a familiar face on the silverscreen, approached the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police with a complaint against Shyam K Naidu, the younger brother of ace lensman Chota K Naidu. Sai Sudha, in her complaint, claimed that Shyam K Naidu has been in a live-in relationship with her for a few years and that he coaxed her into it by promising to marry her. She alleged that Shyam has been very slippery now on his promise of marrying her. Unconfirmed reports claim that based on Sai Sudha’s complaint, the SR Nagar police arrested Shyam K Naidu on Wednesday morning.
Though a small-time actress, Sai Sudha is a familiar face in Tollywood films, known for her dime a dozen cameos. Despite being around in the industry for quite some time, she became popular after the steamy hot scene she did with Vijay Devarakonda in his blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’.
On the other hand, Shyam K Naidu is one of the most seasoned cinematographers of Tollywood. He was associated with Tollywood’s sensational director Puri Jagannath right from the latter’s first film until a few years ago. Puri Jagan and Shyam’s combination remained inalienable which clearly reflected in the director's blockbuster hits like ‘Pokiri’, ‘Temper’,’ Idiot’, ‘Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi’ and ‘Sivamani’
Though known to be a very quiet person maintaining a low profile unlike his brother Chota K Naidu, Shyam has been in trouble after trouble in the recent past. Incidentally, he was under the Hyderabad police scanner in the sensational drugs case a few years ago. Shyam was one of the many Tollywood personalities that the Cyberabad police had questioned to ascertain if they had any links to the drug supply racket.
