Hyderabad IB Assistant Director Dies On Duty After Accidental 12 Feet Fall
HYDERABAD: An Intelligence Bureau (IB) official posted in the city died of head injuries after he suffered an accidental fall while on duty in the city on Wednesday.
As per CI Ravindra Prasad’s version, the IB Assistant Director Kumar Amreesh accidentally fell off the stage while performing security checks at Shilpa Kala Vedika under Madhapur police stations in Hyderabad on Wednesday afternoon.
He was conducting a security check at the auditorium ahead of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s visit to the city to unveil a book written by late lyricist Sirivennala Sitharama Sastry on the 20th. He was recording the arrangements and went to the edge of the stage and accidentally slipped off falling 12 feet down causing serious internal head injuries.
The 51-year-old IB officer was immediately shifted to a private hospital nearby. He went into in coma and succumbed to death while undergoing treatment at around 7 pm, doctors said. He is survived by his wife and two children. The IB Assistant Director was transferred to Hyderabad four years ago and was also promoted as Deputy Director. Madhapur Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
