DISHA App: Girl Saved By Nellore Police Within 4 Minutes After Sending SOS

NELLORE: Downloading the DISHA  app, has helped in saving a young woman from the clutches of an auto driver in Nellore district. Within just four minutes of pressing the SOS button on the DISHA App which was on her phone, the Nellore cops reached where she was and escorted the woman home safely. Guntur DIG Trivikram Verma congratulated the police for taking the girl home safely. Not only him, the people of Nellore district are also praising the services of the police.

As per details rendered by the  Doravari Satram police a young woman who was working in Sri City near Sulurupeta was returning from her hometown at Markapuram when she got into an auto on the highway from Naidupet to Sullurupeta at around 11.30 pm.

However, the driver's behavior changed shortly after the auto took off. Suspecting his behavior the woman pressed the SOS  button in the DISAP App. Immediately the information went to the police. They received information at 10.38 pm and spoke to the victim and assured her, at 10.40 pm and the  Doravari Satram police and Highway Patrol personnel reached where the girl was at 10.42 pm, took her in their vehicle to Sullurupeta, and dropped her at her relatives' house unharmed.

Guntur DIG Trivikram Verma suggested that everyone should know the use of the DISHA app and should download the DISHA app for their own safety. The Andhra Pradesh government is also raising awareness on the use of the DISHA app extensively across the state. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier participated in an awareness drive to promote the use of the women's safety app.
