14 Maoists Including 3 Minors Surrender in Bhadradri Kothagudem

14 Maoist militia members surrender in Bhadradri Kothagudem,Telangana     - Sakshi Post

KOTHAGUDEM: Fourteen militia members who worked for the banned CPI (Maoist) party surrendered before the police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Thursday. Among the 14, three are minors, and one of the minors includes a girl.

Speaking to the media, Bhadradri Kothagudem District Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt said that they were not willing to work for the party but were forced to join it and attend training.

He stated that the banned CPI (Maoist) Party forced them to attend meetings, collect groceries and other essential commodities from the villagers.

Tired with the attitude of the Maoist party cadre and disillusioned by the way the party was functioning, the youngsters decided to surrender and join the mainstream, he said. The senior police official appealed to the Maoists to surrender to the Telangana police wherever they were and lead a normal life.

Last week former Party leader late Haribhushan alias Yapa Narayana's wife Sharadakka surrendered before Telangana DGP Mahendra Reddy. She has been ill for some time. Many of the Maoists are suffering from COVID and many of them have also succumbed to the virus.The Maoists confirmed that they had lost two senior leaders due to COVID10 complications in the month of July. The CPI (Maoist) Telangana state committee secretary Haribhushan alias Yapa Narayana (50), died of a heart attack after testing positive for COVID-19 in Bastar district on June 21. Another member of the Dandakaranya MAD Division, Indravati Area Committee, Siddaboina Sarakka alias Bharatakka had also succumbed to the Coronavirus.
