Deshbhakti Curriculum Rolled Out In Delhi Govt Schools - Sakshi Post

From today, the Deshbhakti Curriculum will be implemented in Delhi government schools.

Deshbhakti will be taught in Delhi government schools starting Wednesday as part of a huge nationalistic drive.

Deshbhakti Curriculum: From Tuesday, the Delhi government will implement the 'Deshbhakti Curriculum' in government-run schools, to instil patriotism in children. From nursery through 12th grade, this project will be executed. "The curriculum will be activity-based and students will be told stories about independence and the nation's pride," Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had previously stated.

For children in kindergarten through eighth grade, the Desh bhakti curriculum requires one period per day for patriotic studies and two courses per week – not on consecutive days – for senior students in classes 9 to 12.

On August 6, the governing council of the state council of educational research and training (SCERT) approved the framework of the ‘Deshbhakti' curriculum proposed by a government-appointed panel. On the 73rd Independence Day in 2019, Delhi's chief minister made a public statement about the curriculum, expressing his hope that it will be taught in schools across the country in the future.

According to authorities, 41 mentor teachers, nine NGO partners, and specialists all contributed to the development of the Desh bhakti curriculum and its test run in June and July of this year. Over 250 students from various grades in 20 schools participated in the online trial run, which was led by a core group of Delhi government schoolteachers.
