HDFC Customers Won't Get Credit Cards Anymore Thanks To RBI Directive

 - Sakshi Post

On December 2, the Reserve bank of India issued an order to HDFC bank. RBI has ordered HDFC to put a halt on all the Digital business generating activities and not to source credit cards to new customers.

Due to the incidents that occurred in the past 2 years, RBI has decided to take such a decision. The outages that occurred in the bank's internet banking facility, digital facilities and all the payment utilities became a reason for this order. On November 21, 2020, the power failure in the primary data centre led to issues in internet banking and payment systems.

HDFC bank confirmed on Thursday (Dec 3) that RBI had advised the bank on certain things. Stopping all the digital business generating activities and also to put a halt on sourcing credit cards to new customers. These decisions were taken under RBI’s Digital 2.0 plan.

HDFC confirmed that all these regulations are not going to affect their regular business. The bank will continue to work hard and provide their customers with amazing online banking facilities. Adding to this they said that the bank has always tried to help their customers with effortless digital banking facilities and are now taking proper measures to ensure that they solve all the problems caused by the recent power outage.
