Aadhaar-PAN Card Link Deadline Extended: Check Last Date And Penalty

The Coronavirus pandemic has had an adverse impact on the country’s economy. The Indian government, in view of the ongoing pandemic, has extended the deadline for various compliances, including the linkage of Aadhaar with PAN Card from June 30 to September 30.

The last date for the payment of an amount under Vivad se Vishwas was further extended by 2-4 months. It was earlier extended to June 30, 2021 and now it got extended till August 31, 2021 (without any charge) and to September 30, 2021 (with a late fee).

In view of the impact of the Covid-19, taxpayers are facing a lot of inconvenience in meeting tax compliances. The CBDT has extended the last date of the Aadhaar-PAN card linking to September 30. However, the government has made an amendment to the Finance Bill in 2021 as per which the user has to pay a penalty of Rs 1,000 for not linking his Pan card with Aadhaar number.
