BTS 2023 Festa: Presenting BTS’ RM, The DJ For The Event
Every chance they had, BTS members have shown their love for the ARMY, their cherished fan club, and Saturday's "2023 BTS Festa" grand finale was no different.
RM remarked on Saturday as he took on the role of a special radio DJ for the day, "I have no idea what I'll be doing on our 15th and 20th anniversary, but I know for a fact that I will forever be thinking of you, thanking you, and loving you — that will never change."
The "2023 BTS Festa'' reached its apex in the Yeouido Han River Park in western Seoul, where some 300,000 people gathered to mark the megaband's tenth anniversary. As a result of a collaboration between BTS's agency HYBE and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, 11 significant Seoul landmarks were lit up in purple on June 12 to start off the Festa.
All generations of ARMY gathered in the Yeouido park, lining up in front of purple-colored installations for selfies, exhibits showcasing BTS's accomplishments, big screens playing their music videos, and booths where fans could engage in hands-on activities and receive gifts.
The BTS leader served as presenter and performer for a half-hour on RM's radio show, "It's 5 PM, and this is Kim Namjun." As the event commenced, RM read out seven letters from fans who had written to BTS to share their stories.
Members Jimin and V joined RM and addressed the audience during a live phone call. The BTS leader concluded the show by singing two of his own solo songs, "Persona" (2019) and "Wild Flower" (2022).
"Everything changes in a flash, and time flies," he remarked. "I, too, have changed. Already, ten years have passed. I'm grateful to everyone who helped make today such an amazing opportunity for me. I thank the ARMY for giving me another wonderful experience. Thank you for watching and loving us. Thank you for everything."
The evening came to a close with a DJ show that lasted 50 minutes at Han River Park and 30 minutes of fireworks that started at 8:30 p.m. For the time being, BTS members will continue on their individual paths. BTS members Jin and J-Hope are now completing their required military service, and Suga will perform this weekend in Seoul.
