YSRCP vs TDP: Hard Facts vs Yellow Media’s Misinformation

Amaravati: A section of media is at it again – running a malicious campaign against the YS Jagan-led government through misinformation and propaganda news articles (When we look back Telangana has witnessed progress nine and a half years after the state bifurcation while the situation is disappointing in Andhra Pradesh, writes TDP-friendly yellow media in their reports. 

Here’s the response to the propaganda campaign against the YSRCP government: 

Unlike Hyderabad, which generates an annual revenue of 70,000 crore, and despite encountering the Covid-19 pandemic for the two consecutive years, Andhra Pradesh stands tall. 

1. Large and small scale industries and investments: 

  • Gujarat                 - Rs. 25,685 cr
  • Andhra Pradesh   - Rs. 19,187 cr
  • Uttarakhand          -  Rs. 10,150 cr
  • Tamil Nadu             - Rs. 7,750 cr
  • Maharashtra         - Rs. 5,511 cr

2. Industrial growth rate: 

Andhra Pradesh recorded 3.2 percent industrial growth rate and was placed at 22nd place in TDP’s regime while the state accelerated its growth rate to 12.8 percent and ranked 3rd during YS Jagan government. 

3. MSME generated more employment: 

In the TDP regime, there were only 40,000 MSMEs in the state. The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy increased the MSMEs to over 2.5 lakh. 

4. Industrial investments: 

During Naidu’s regime, the industrial investments were only Rs 60,000 crores which grew into Rs 80,000 crores after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power. 

5. Andhra Pradesh tops in social sector expenditure, says CAG

Expenditure ratio in state budgetary allocations: 

  • Andhra Pradesh -  Rs 72,622 cr      - 55.71 percent
  • Gujarat               -  43,107 cr           - 42.83 percent 
  • Kerala                - 23,313 cr            - 42.75 percent
  • Tamil Nadu        - 52,368 cr             - 42.35 percent 
  • Karnataka         - 39,551 cr              - 42.30 percent
  • Telangana         - 34,036 cr              - 31.34 percent 

6. Andhra Pradesh ranks second in property development expenditure, says CAG 

Expenditure for assets creation between April 2023 and September 2023 from the budgetary allocation

State - Expenditure in Budget Allocation:

  • Telangana - 60.86 percent 
  • Andhra Pradesh - 53.37 percent 
  • Kerala- 40.93 percent 
  • Tamil Nadu - 40.05 percent 
  • Gujarat - 29.64 percent 
  • Karnataka- 16.87 percent
