YSRCP Schools Lokesh for Sharing Misleading Unemployment Data
Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam Party continues to target the ruling YSRCP government over one issue or the other. As part of its malicious campaign, the opposition party is now trying to corner the government over the unemployment rate in the state.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh has alleged that at 24 percent, Andhra Pradesh has the highest unemployment rate in the country. To support his claim, he has shared a report with fancy charts and some statistics thrown in. However, the TDP leader fails to back up his claim with an official report.

The ruling YSRCP clapped back at Lokesh with hard facts gathered from the Central government. Sharing the screenshot of Union Minister for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli response on the floor of the Parliament on December 11, 2023, the party advised Lokesh against ‘vomiting lies’ on employment data.

According to the Union Ministry for Labour and Employment, the unemployment rate in Andhra Pradesh has come down to 4.1 percent. Despite the Centre’s response in Lok Sabha, the TDP scion Lokesh exaggerated the unemployment rate to 24 percent to spread lies against the YS Jagan government and mislead the people. The party has also dared Lokesh to come forward for a healthy discussion on the unemployment data while cautioning him against following into his father Chandrababu Naidu’s footsteps who has always used a section of media to his advantage.
