YSRCP Complains to EC Against Narayana Educational Institutions

Vijayawada: Ruling YSRCP has approached the Election Commission of India (ECI) and sought an immediate action against the Narayana Group of educational institutions which is being administered by the former Telugu Desam Party Minister Dr P Narayana. 

YSRCP MLC Lella Appi Reddy met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena here on Monday and submitted a representation to him. In his complaint to the EC, Appi Reddy said that the Narayana Group is collecting personal data of family members of their wards in schools and colleges. He added that the Narayana School in Nellore has rolled out a form asking their students to fill in the details of family members like address, phone numbers of family members, poll booth numbers and Voters IDs. 

Referring to the Article 18 and 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 195, Appi Reddy said collecting personal data of family members of their students is an offence under the stated act and hence action must be initiated against the group of educational institutions. Notably, the Narayana Group is running various schools, junior colleges and professional colleges across the state.
