Will Jana Sena find candidates for 15 seats?

 - Sakshi Post

The steady decline of Jana Sena Party over the years shows that the package star Pawan Kalyan, who claims to be a voracious reader, did not read much about the political game. In the last 10 years, the party should have at least made its mark on the political landscape but that does not seem to be the case as the party has zero presence at the booth level.

Pawan Kalyan, who floated a new political party to bring the change, is slowly losing the party’s ground to the alliance partner TDP in the 2024 assembly elections. As part of the seat-sharing arrangement, Jana Sena got 24 seats for assembly elections. With the last minute entry of BJP into the alliance, Pawan’s party had to settle for 21 seats. The party has announced the names of six candidates. The election schedule has been announced and yet the party is considering the names of ticket aspirants.

Now, the question comes to everyone’s mind is will Jana Sena find formidable candidates for the upcoming polls or will the party chief put up the remaining seats up for public auction? Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is called a ‘package star’ for a reason. He’s neither focussed on strengthening the party’s organisational structure nor attempted to go to the field and build the party base. The way he’s compromised on principles and policies for a pre-poll alliance with the TDP suggests that he’s launched the party just to act as a support system to the key opposition party.

Among the six candidates, the party did not find the core party members to contest the upcoming elections. Former minister Konatala Ramakrishna, who recently joined Jana Sena got the party ticket. The candidate from Bhimavaram seat is Pulavarthi Ramanjaneyulu, who is also a turncoat. Similarly, the party is fielding another new entrant Vallabhaneni Balashowry. The party’s decision to give tickets to turncoats has disappointed many janasainiks.

Pawan Kalyan managed to get 8 seats by forming an alliance with the BJP  for the recently held Telangana assembly elections. He struggled to find the candidates, however, Jana Sena candidates lost the elections as there was no party support for them. Now, the countdown has begun for the lok sabha and assembly elections in the state, Jana Sena leadership is still searching for candidates to fill the remaining 15 seats. Those who know Pawan Kalyan very well opined that if Jana Sena leader does not find the candidates who can take on the ruling party in the upcoming elections, he might put these seats up for sale provided he gets a good bargain for it.
