Unlike Praja Rajyam, Jana Sena Crumbles in Parts?
Coming together of Pawan Kalyan and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for the forthcoming elections has disappointed many leaders in Jana Sena party. In an attempt to follow the “alliance dharma” Pawan Kalyan ended up ignoring his own hard-working leaders.
Kiran Royal (Tirupati), Bolisetty Satyanarayana (Visakhapatnam) and Sandeep Panchakarla (Bhimili) among others have been working to strengthen the party at the grassroots level for several years. These leaders were hopeful of a party ticket for the upcoming elections. However, they were disappointed after the Jana Sena leadership denied tickets to them.
As part of the seat-sharing agreement, Pawan Kalyan’s party was allocated 24 assembly and three Lok Sabha seats, however, after joining the NDA, Jana Sena’s allocation was reduced to 21 assembly and two Lok Sabha seats. The reduction in the number of seats made the task of distribution of tickets even more challenging. Despite this fact, Jana Sena leadership has failed to recognise the hard work of party leaders like Lakshmipathy (Anantapur) and Sundarapu Satish in (Vizag). These leaders are now facing the heat from their followers as they did not get the party tickets too.
It is said that Chandrababu is playing his cards well. He is ensuring that the party leaders who were denied tickets get the opportunity to contest the elections on behalf of Jana Sena and at the expense of Pawan Kalyan’s hard working party leaders.
The people of the Telugu state have seen how Pawan Kalyan’s brother and mega star Chiranjeevi made his political debut with Praja Rajyam Party and merged it with Congress after reaching an arrangement with the grand old party. Millions of fans trusted him and hoped that he would bring a change in politics, however, he failed them.
Praja Rajyam Party ceased to exist with a single decision to merge with Congress. However, this is not the case with Pawan Kalyan’s party. The actor-turned-politician mortgaging his party and its voter base to the key opposition party with a five year election. The party cadre and the Kapu community, to which the party founder belongs to, are getting cheated by him as he fails to resurrect the party and ensure the political empowerment of his community.
