Unknown Bike-borne Youth Throw Acid on Woman in Eluru, AP Minister Says Culprits won’t be Spared

Eluru: Two motorcycle-borne unidentified youths threw acid on the face of a woman in Eluru, the police said on Wednesday. In the acid attack, the victim suffered burn injuries and she was admitted to a government general hospital in Vijayawada. 

The victim is a 35-year-old married woman Yadla Pranchika who works as a receptionist in a Smart Dentistry hospital in the city, however, her husband is working in West Godavari district. The incident took place near her house in Xavier Nagar while she was returning home from work on a scooty on Tuesday night. 

According to the police, the victim's eyes were affected in the acid attack. However, the victim's left is out of danger while her right eye requires surgery. The police have formed six teams and launched a manhunt to nab the acid attackers. 

Meanwhile, the Home Minister Taneti Vanitha has said that perpetrators will not be spared. She said YS Jagan government stands by the woman and she is being moved to Manipal Hospital for better treatment.
