Telugu Student Found Dead in US, Family Suspects Murder
A 20-year-old engineering student from Andhra Pradesh was found dead in Boston in the US last week. The family of the deceased had alleged that he was murdered, however, the initial probe ruled out ‘foul play’.
The deceased student identified as Abhijeeth Paruchuru was a resident of Burripalem in Guntur district. According to the officials, Abhijeeth’s parents Paruchuri Chakradhar and Srilakshmi Boruna, were based in Connecticut while he was enrolled at Boston University. He was their only son.
The family suspected that he was murdered by unidentified persons on the university campus on March 11 and left his body in a car in a forest. After receiving a missing person complaint, the police officials launched a search operation and found his body based on his cell phone signals.
Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India in New York has tweeted a condolence message and said the initial investigation has ruled out anything suspicious. It said Paruchuru's parents are in direct touch with the authorities
Subsequently, the Indian Consulate arranged the documentation and transportation of the body to Andhra Pradesh. Paruchuru's last rites were performed in his hometown on Monday.

It may be recalled here this is the ninth incident of such an attack on Indian-origin students in the US in 2024.
