TDP is bogged down by the infighting in Vijayawada
The internal war between leaders poses threat to its prospects in the Elections
TDP is expected to face a crushing defeat in Vijayawada constituency in the elections due to the discord among the party members. The cold war between the party’s Vijayawada Lok Sabha candidate Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) and Vijayawada East Assembly Constituency candidate Gadde Ramamohan is refusing to die even as the countdown for the polling day has begun already.
Both TDP leaders are not seeing eye to eye and also stayed away from party's election campaigns. They are running separate poll campaigns. Boppana Bhava Kumar, who recently switched to TDP from ruling YSRCP, is also critical of Gadde’s behavior. The party’s loyalists have also echoed similar experiences with the TDP’s MLA candidate. Recently, a case of sexual harassment of a woman was registered against Gadde’s aide in Patamata Police Station
Vijayawada East has nearly 2.66 lakh voters including 1.38 lakh women. The voters have also expressed their dissatisfaction with Gadde. The locals say that the TDP leader has failed to develop the constituency despite getting elected twice in 2014 and 2019.
