Surveys Predict TDP's Defeat, That's Why Naidu Wants Pawan Kalyan: Sajjala
Tadepalli: As elections are nearing in the state, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is making an attempt to woo the Backward Classes (BC) voters with the poll promise of ‘BC Declaration’, YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said on Tuesday.
Sajjala said it’s ironic that the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister ignored the BC community while he was at the helm of affairs and now saying if voted to power he will work for their upliftment. Notably, Naidu is launching the ‘‘BC Declaration’ in Guntur today.
He made these remarks while addressing a Vaddera Aatmeeya meeting at the YSRCP central headquarters which was attended by MLCs Chandragiri Yesuratnam and Lella Appi Reddy and Vaddera Corporation Chairperson Devalla Revathi among others.
Questioning the ethics of the opposition leader, Sajjala said the TDP chief had campaigned against Gummanur Jayaram alleging that he was involved in the corruption and now inducting him in his party. Recently, Jayaram quit the ruling party due to personal reasons.
“If Chandrababu Naidu had confidence in his party’s strength, he’d not have forged a pre-poll alliance with a relatively inexperienced political party. He’s trying to take credit for the welfare programmes initiated by the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy,” Sajjala remarked.
Naidu was in the seat of power from 2014-19. He created a mafia in the name of Janmabhoomi committee. He was involved in various irregularities including the embezzlement of toilet funds, Sajjala said. He also added that the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is bringing reforms across various levels and the BC and Vaddera communities will continue to prosper in the second term too.
